Local bus
The centre of Ajaccio can be easily reached by getting on bus No. 8 (Aéroport – Gare CFC), which is operated by TCA Bus Service of Ajaccio which connects the airport with the main train station.
- The first bus departs from the airport at 05:20 and the last one at 23:20, approximately every half hour → check the timetable
- The price of a single ticket is €10 and it is bought directly from the driver
Another possibility of getting to the main station is by taking bus No. 12 which departs from bus stop P+R Campo dell’Oro, which is a 15 minute walk from the terminal.
Taxi services
If you are in a hurry and don’t have time to wait for the next bus, you can always get yourself an official Ajaccio airport taxi (YATTAXI). The average taxi fare to the city centre is €15. Make sure you don’t get into unofficial taxis, because drivers might try to overcharge you.
Transfer
A door-to-door transfer is a good option to get to your destination from the airport if you are with your family, or you plan to carry a lot of luggage and you want someone to wait for you. Drivers will usually be situated outside the Ajaccio arrivals terminal with your name sign. Even if your plane is late, they will wait for you, as the transfer company will monitor your flight arrival. If you are travelling with children, you can pre-order child safety seats.
Renting a car at Ajaccio airport
Since Ajaccio is on an island, you might consider renting a car and maybe explore other towns. Either rent it directly in the airport area (Budget, Europcar, Hertz) or book it online.
Renting a bus at Ajaccio airport
If you are travelling in a large group of people and wish to explore the island of Corsica, you should consider renting a bus before your flight. Then arrange all the details with the bus rental company on time, like meeting and pick-up points at the airport.

Ajaccio Airport FAQs
No, it won’t. The airport is located just 7 km from the centre of Ajaccio. In case you miss the last bus at 23:20, you can get yourself a taxi, but they also operate until the last scheduled arrival, so hurry up!
The closest hotel is about 1.7 kilometres from Ajaccio airport: Hotel Campo dell’Oro (situated next to the bus stop) and it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.
Of course it is. Take a local bus (line 8 or 12) which will take you directly from the airport to the train station in the centre of Ajaccio. Unfortunately, there are no luggage storage facilities at the airport, so you should probably leave your stuff at hotel first and then go to explore the city.
You can visit other towns on Corsica by Corsica bus which departs from Gare Routiere D’Ajaccio station, like Bonifacio or Porto Vecchio, which are the most popular routes from Ajaccio (check the timetable here). Visit Bastia on north of Corsica by taking a regular train line from the main station.
Although there are no exchange offices at the airport, you will probably find an ATM to withdraw some euros. But considering Ajaccio Airport is relatively small, we recommend you have euros before the flight.
