Bari Airport FAQs

I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?

That will not be a problem as there are bus lines running all day every half an hour, but in case you miss them all, get yourself a taxi but be careful and negotiate the price in advance, because you might get overcharged, especially late at night.

I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?

The closest hotels to the Bari airport are:
Hotel Parco dei Principi (4*) – 10 minute walk from the airport; offers free Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking
Vittoria Parc Hotel (4*) – 3km away from the airport, free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast, offers room service and laundry washing service

I would like to spend one day in Bari in between flights. Is that possible?

Yes, of course. The best way to do so is to take one of the buses which take you directly from the airport to the city centre and are the most convenient way of transportation. The airport does not offer luggage lockers but you can leave your luggage at the train station for 5 € (first five hours; every next hour costs additional 0,70€)

Can I exchange the money at the airport to pay for my transfer?

Yes, there are several exchange offices and ATMs at the airport, working 24/7, but it would be better to exchange the money before the trip and have some euros on you since the rate will be a lot higher on the spot and no currency other than euro is accepted.

4 of us are arriving from uk wednesday 8th May with our bicycles.
Can we take our bikes on the train from Bari ferrovia apullo lucane to Matera?
Can we leave the packaging our bikes were in (no more than size of a cabin bag) in the left luggage at the station for a week?

      Dear Judith,

Train network in Italy in general allows transportation of bikes, however, we recommend to check the information at the info desk at the train station in Bari.

      Best regards
