How to get from Lyon Airport to Lyon
Airport shuttle
This airport is particular because it doesn’t have shuttle bus to the city centre, but instead, it has the so-called Rhone Express tram.
- The journey lasts about half an hour and the single ticket costs €13.60 for youth between 12-25 and €16.30 for adults, which is a bit pricey, even for French standards.
- The tram runs every 15 minutes from 6:00-21:00, and every half an hour from 21:00-5:00.
- Tickets can be bought online, at vending machines or on board (the most expensive option).
- The tram connects the airport with Gare Lyon Part-Dieu, the main train station.
NOTE: There is an option of buying a Lyon City Card, a 1, 2, 3 or 4-day pass for an unlimited access to public transport, including the airport transfer. It also includes access to museums, various tours, river cruises and more. Check the prices and order your card here.
Taxi services
Since there is no other mean of public transport to get to the city centre besides the express tram, you can get yourself a taxi as an alternative option.
- The price of the journey to Lyon Part-Dieu station is €45-50 by day, and €65-70 by night
- To Lyon centre – €50-55 by day and €65-70 by night

Probably the most convenient option is booking a door-to-door transfer, especially if you are in a larger group or you need direct transport to your accommodation. The drivers will wait for you outside the terminal with your name sign. Don’t worry if your flight is late, since it is being monitored by the transfer company.
