Wrocław-Copernicus Airport is an international airport located in southwestern Poland, 13 kilometers west from Wrocław city center. The German name of the city is Breslau which was formerly one of the largest cities of the German Empire. Today it serves as a focus city for Enter Air, Ryanair and Wizzair. In the last decade, the airport has recorded a rapid increase of passengers, and in 2017 it handled more than 2.8 million passengers. There are several ways to get to and from the airport.
How to get from Wroclaw Airport to Wroclaw
Airport shuttle bus
Right in front of the terminal you will find WRO Airport Express, airport shuttle bus which connects the airport and the center of Wrocław. The station in the center is called ‘’Plac Dominikański’’ and the one next to the Central Bus and Railway Station is called ‘’Dworzec Wrocław’’. The bus departs every 50 minutes with a pause between 1:00 and 4:10 am, and the journey takes around 30 minutes. You can buy the ticket directly from the driver or at the 24h International Travel Desk, and the ticket in both cases costs 10zł (~2€).
Local bus
Besides the shuttle bus, the airport is well connected via public transport, and there are two bus lines which take you to the parts of Wrocław.
- Bus no. 106 – departs to and from the Central Railway/Bus Station every 20 minutes on a daily basis with the last one departing at 23:34 pm from the airport. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes and the ticket costs 3.40zł (~1€).
- Bus no. 206 – a night bus line which operates the same route as no. 106 with departures starting at 00:06 am from the airport. The price of the night ticket is 3.60zł (~1€).
Taxi service
If you prefer a more cosy ride which takes you to your hotel doorstep, consider taking a taxi. Taxi service from the airport to the city center of Wrocław usually costs 60zł, but can be more, and have in mind that taxi drivers waiting at the terminal will always tend to overcharge their clients. Make sure you always ask about the price of your desired destination before you get in the taxi. The journey to the center takes approximately 20 minutes, and some of the companies operating at Wrocław airport are Domino Taxi, MTP, Radio Taxi etc.
Transfer
If you don’t like using the public transport and hesitate to take a taxi, consider booking a private transfer which will wait for you on the airport and take you to your destination. The transfer company will send a professional driver to pick you up. You can even pre-order a child safety seat if you’re travelling with a child.

For those who would prefer to reach the city and explore the area on their own, the best option is to rent a car directly at the airport. The last shuttle bus departs at 1:00 am but there is a local night bus line which passes through the airport, so getting to the city should not be a problem. Also, there is always an option of taking a taxi.
There are no airport hotels right next to the airport, the first ones start at the distance of 2.5 kilometers (~2 miles) the closest one being Hotel Kosmonauty Wrocław-Airport. The other ones further away are Terminal Hotel, Karczma Rzym and Ibis Budget Wrocław Stadium.
Yes, the city is only 13 kilometers away from the airport which means you can reach it in less than 30 minutes. The airport is well connected with the city via several types of transport, so visiting Wrocław between flights should not be a problem.
