Buses Kotor
Kotor is a medieval coastal town in Montenegro, located in the Bay of Kotor. The town is surrounded by a fort built in the Venetian period. Thanks to its historical and cultural patrimony, Kotor is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Intercity transport
The town is not big and the cars are forbidden within the walls. However, if you want to visit some of the neighbouring towns in the Bay of Kotor and at the same time enjoy the view, you can use the public bus services operated by Blue Line. The buses have frequent departures from the main bus station in Kotor; during summer months the number of departures increases. The schedule can be seen here.
International transport
Kotor is well connected with other towns in Montenegro as well as with towns in the region. The main bus station can be found a bit outside of the centre, a ten minute walk, in direction Budva: the address is Put prvoboraca bb. The main bus company is Autoboka. The bus station has ten platforms and a taxi stand. Here you can see it on Google maps.

If you travel from cities other than the above mentioned, you can first reach the bus station in Zagreb, Split or Dubrovnik and from there take a bus which goes to Kotor.
Tourist buses
Tourist buses leave from the centre every 45 minutes. A tourist bus tour inlcudes the entrance to the Roman mosaics in Risan, the Museum in Perast and a walking tour with a guide through the old town of Kotor.
Airport transfer
There are two national airports:
- the international Tivat Airport (TIV), 5 km from Kotor and 4 km from Tivat. There is no direct bus connection from the airport; the only option is to take a taxi to the bus station in Tivat or the bus station in Kotor. There are scheduled fligts from Belgrade, Moscow and Paris as well as charter flights.
- Podgorica Airpot (TGD), 12 km from the city itself and 65 km from Kotor town. There is also no direct bus connection from this airport; you have to take a taxi to Podgorica and from there continue by bus to your final destination.
My wife and I have to get to Cavtat from Kotor on Oct. 1st …. wasn’t sure if you provide any sort of transportation or have any suggestions ?

Hi Steve,
the buses to Kotor leave from the main bus station in Dubrovnik, so you will either have to go there, or arrange for a private transfer from Cavtat to Kotor

The closest bus stop/station is in Igalo and there you can take a direct bus to Kotor. The town of Igalo is located 7km from the border crossing at Debeli Brijeg so I would suggest getting a taxi to the bus station in Igalo.

Will busses from Dubrovnik to kotor be available July 1st,2021? I tried to look for fares but it said no busses available.

Unfortunately, there are no scheduled departures for July on the route Dubrovnik – Kotor for now, only for August.
