Buses Ljubljana
Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and it lies on the river Ljubljanica, approximately 10 km from the confluence with the river Sava. It is a known tourist city with many sights. Public transportation
The public tranportation in Ljubljana is operated by Ljubljanski potniški promet. It covers the city of Ljubljana with a total of 214 bus lines of which 42 are city lines and 30 are suburban lines. Bus stations can be found at a maximum distance of 500 m from the houses.

Most buses have access for the disabled. In case you have a folding bike in a cover bag, you can bring it on the bus between 9 am and 1 pm and again after 6 pm; there is no limitation during the weekend.
Urbana, Ljubljana ticket for public transport
In order to use the public transport in Ljubljana you will need a ticket called Urbana and its price is around 2 euros. It is a contactless smart ticket which can be purchased at kiosks, post offices, tourist offices and public transport sales points as well as on the Internet.
If you buy this ticket in one of the tourist offices you can return it at the same place you bought it and you will get a refund.
A minimum amount you can charge your ticket with is around 1 euro and a maximum is around 50 euros.
The ticket can be charged at the above mentioned places as well as at the green machines – Urbanomati – which can be found all over the city, mostly by the bus stations. These machines accept cash, credit and debit cards.
The duration of a single ride is 90 minutes no matter the number of buses and directions you change during the ride. A single ticket can be used to pay a ride to other people.
Intercity transport

The airport of Ljubljana is called Joze Pucnik and the distance from the city center is 27 km. The cheapest way to reach the airport in Ljubljana is to take a public bus which runs every hour and during the weekends every two hours. It takes about 45 minute to get to the airport and the price is approximately 35 kuna.
