Buses Zadar
Zadar is the fifth biggest town in Croatia, it is the administrative, cultural and political centre of North Dalmatia.
This town has a long history which was influenced by the Roman, Venetian, Austrian and Byzantine culture. Many monuments have been saved from these periods. The town is also known for conteporary and unique monuments like the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun.
Public transport in Zadar
Public transport in Zadar is operated by Liburnija doo bus company; they have 22 buses on 12 city routes which cover the whole city. The buses on city lines run every day from 5 in the morning till midnight and during the summer till 1 am. Buses for all city parts leave from the main bus station and they run every 20 minutes exxcept for the buses to the centre which run every 15 minutes.
You can wait for most buses at the bus station commonly called “Mala posta” at the intersection of Josipa Juraja Strossmayera street and Stjepana Radica street. This bus station is a 3-5 minute ride from the main bus station or a 20 minute walk.
Suburban bus lines also leave from the main bus station. There are around 50 buses which operate on Zadar county area (Kruscica, Obrovac, Karin, Polaca, Radasinovac, Pakostane, Vir, Vrsi, Miletici) including the islands as well (Ugljan, Pasman, Dugi otok, Iz).

Public transport tickets
Tickets for the public transport can be purchased:
- from the driver
- on the main bus station and at Liburnija kiosk
- at all Tisak kiosks you can buy tickets for two single rides or in a block of 10 tickets.
A bus ticket can be used for 50 minutes after it has been validated; within this period of time you can change buses but only those which go in the same direction.
Tickets have to be validated on the machine which is behind the driver.
Bus station

The main bus station is owned by the Liburnija company. The railway station is in the vicinity of the main bus station. It takes a twenty minute walk to get to the centre from the bus station or a 5 minute car ride.
Any part of Zadar can be reached from the main bus station because it is where the city buses leave from.
The centre can be reached by lines nr. 2 and 4. Gazenica ferry port can be reached by line nr. 9.
Luggage storage at Zadar main bus station
Luggage storage in Zadar can be found within Zadar main bus station building. These are the prices for storing luggage:
- items up to 15 kg – 3 HRK/hour
- items heavier than 15 kg – 10 HRK/hour
Zadar main bus station gurantees for your stored luggage up to the amount of 500 HRK.
Intercity transport
Zadar has a great traffic infrastructure and is directly connected with Croatian towns.

Transfer from Zadar to Starigrad Paklenica
Paklenica National Park is an hour ride from Zadar. The company Slavonija bus has three departures from Zadar to Starigrad Paklenica during summer months and one departure in the winter.
Transfer from Zadar to Plitvice Lakes
It takes an hour and half bus ride to get Plitvice Lakes from Zadar. In the summer there are 8 bus lines and in the winter 4.
Transfer from Zadar to Skradin
It takes a 45 minute bus ride to get from Zadar to Skradin. In the summer there are 6 bus lines and in the winter 3. The bus schedules can be seen here.
International transport
There are several bus connections from Zadar to Europeran cities. Vienna and Graz can be reached by direct bus lines but to travle to some other cities you will have to change buses in Zagreb or Split.
