Airports in North Macedonia
Currently there are two airports in North Macedonia which has international flights. In 2015 the total number of passengers as to and from North Macedonian airports was around 1.7 mio.
Skopje Airport – IATA code SKP

The main airport in North Macedonia is obviously the airport by the capital Skopje, the airport is officially called Skopje “Alexander the Great” Airport, the airport is located 23 km driving distance southeast of the center of town, the cheapest way of getting to the town is by airport bus, which is a 30-40 minute ride. The Hungarian carrier Wizz air has a hub at the airport and accounts for more than 50% of the international connection to the airport. Connection to other parts of North Macedonia is available from the bus station in Skopje, from there you have e.g buses to Ohrid which is a 3 hour bus drive.
Ohrid Airport – IATA code OHD

The airport in Ohrid is officially called Ohrid “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport, the airports is located 10 north / northwest of Ohrid center, unfortunately there is no bus from the airport, so only way to get to the center is to take a taxi, the same apply if you are going to Struga which is 10 km west of the airport, taxi to Ohrid and Struga should be around 8 Euro. As Ohrid is the largest tourist location in North Macedonia the airport is mainly used during summer season, but there is also a whole year connection to the Euroairport by Basel and to London.
Other airports in Macedonia
In addition to the airports in Ohrid and Skopje, there are smaller airports with mainly grass runways near the cities, Bitola (Logovardi airport), Kumanovo (Adzi Tepe Airport), Prilep (Malo Konjari Airport), Skopje (Stenkovec Brazda Airport) and Štip (Susevo Airport), currently there are no plans to introduce commercial air traffic to any of those airports.
