Milan – Munich

Daily there are several direct bus departures between Milan and Munich and the opposite direction as well, bus is the cheapest way of travelling between the two cities. The travel distance by bus is around 500 km which equals a travel time of about 8 hours. The buses used for the route are comfortable long distance buses, which in most case are equipped with Wifi.

When travelling from Milan to Munich, the bus will departure in most case departure from the the Milan bus station (Lampugnano) which is located at Via Giulio Natta 11, some departures offer additional departure locations, so pay attention in the booking process. The Lampugnano bus station can reached with Metro from the centre of town, the metro stop Lampugnano is under the bus station. Traveling from Milan airport to Munich is currently not possible.

If you are travelling in the opposite direction from Munich to Milan, you bus will depart from the Munich ZOB station, which is located at Hackerbrücke next to the S-bahn station München Hackerbrücke and only about 500 metres from the central train station (Hauptbahnhof Munich), so getting to the bus station is really easy. Also in Munich it is not possible to board the board the bus at the airport.

Train: each day there are several direct trains between the cities, travel time by train is around 7 hours, so this is for sure an options to consider, if you are on budget, bus is the better version.

Flight: several daily non stop flight, by carriers like easyjet or Lufthansa, flight time around 1 hour and 15 minutes, if you are flexible you can make a bargain.
