Water parks in Croatia
Ten years ago there were several spa resorts in the north western part of Croatia, but not a single aqua park. In the meantime, a few parks were built near some of the popular holiday spots along the Croatian Adriatic coastal line.
Solaris Aquapark:
The Solaris Aquapark Dalmatia was the first “semi Aqua park” along the coast. Initially, the aqua park only consisted of a few slides and a pool, but a few years ago the park was completely re-built at a new location inside the Solaris holiday resort. The new park is built in the beautiful nature surroundings with a special focus on families with kids. The park does not offer any adrenaline rides but for those who wish to spend a relaxing day, lying under palm trees or drifting on the lazy river while the kids play in the aqua rain fortress or in the kids zone, Solaris Aquapark is the one to pick.
How to find Solaris Aquapark?
The Solaris aqua park park is located 6 km south of the centre of Sibenik. From the town it can be reached by car or city bus; paid parking lots are available next to the entrance.
Aquapark Istralandia:
The water park Istralandia was the first aqua park on the Istrian peninsula. The park is also the Nr.1 water park when it comes to adrenaline kicks; slides like the flying boats or the free fall should make most adrenaline junkies happy. For those who like it more calm there are smaller rides as well as a large wave and relax pool. For the kids there is of course a large kids area with a pirate castle. The park has lots of relax areas with deck chairs as well as a large green area where the guest can enjoy their lunch in the shade.
How to find Istralandia Aquapark?
Istralandia is located near the Nova Vas exit from the Istrian highway. The distance from the centre of Novigrad is about 7 km. The park can also easily be reached by car from Porec, Rovinj, Pula and other Istrian towns. Reaching the park by regular bus lines is currently not possible.
Aquacolors:
The water park Aquacolors near Porec is one of the newest water parks in Croatia. The park has more than 1 km of slides including adrenaline slides like the Looping Rocket. For those who are more into relaxing and swimming, there is a 500 metre long lazy river and a huge pool area. For the smaller kids there is a kids zone with smaller slide. The aqua park also has a large playground and other onshore activities. Parents can relax on one of hundreds of deckchairs which are available around the park.
How to find Aquacolors?
The Aquacolors water park is located about 4 km south of Porec near the holiday resort Zelena Laguna. Unfortunately, there is currently no local bus service so you will have to get to the park by car or on foot. If you arrive by car, you can park your car by the entrance; there are 700 free parking lots.
In additional to the “real” aqua parks, there are more than 10 thermal spa resort in the eastern part of the country. (See map below)
At most beaches along the coast, you will find small inflatable “aqua parks”, which can not compare to the real water parks, but most kids would still find them quite enjoyable.
