Water parks in France

If you are visiting France, especially with children, you may want to visit some of the best amusement parks, including water parks. All kinds of slides, artificial lakes and water games are just the kind of fun we all need nowadays. There are more than 60 publicly accessible water parks in France, in all parts of the country, so no matter where you are planning to spend your holiday, you can easily reach some of them, and here is an overview of the top five.

Aquariaz

At Aquariaz you will have a unique experience of sliding through the Alps, at the highest water park in Europe. Located in the mountains of Avoriaz, this water park is open all year round and includes indoor pools, jacuzzis, saunas, hammams, water play areas for the youngest, sport courts (for volleyball, badminton, etc.), various activities and sand games… During winter, it offers relaxation after a long day of skiing, and in summer, it is a good alternative to beach resorts.

How to reach Aquariaz water park?

Since it is located in the mountains, you might consider renting a car or booking a transfer, as the most hassle-free options, but if you prefer taking the bus, you will find regular buses at Cluses and Thonon. If you are flying in, you should know that Avoriaz is located near the border with Switzerland and the nearest airport is Geneva. From Geneva airport you have regular buses going to Cluses.   

Splashworld

The first and largest water themed park in France, located in Provence region, near Avignon, has family rides, areas for younger children, different water slides, largest lazy river in Europe and the biggest surf simulator in the world. The water park is open during summer season (from June to September) and is also suitable for people with disabilities.    

How to reach Splashworld water park?

Splashworld is located 17 km from Avignon, which makes it easily accessible by car. Also, the proximity of the bus station that connects the water park with the train station of Avignon, makes it possible for those travelling by bus or train from other locations in France to reach Splashworld in a hassle-free manner.

Aqualand Fréjus

Located on the French Riviera, this water park combines the pleasures of Mediterranean beach resort and large pools with water attractions and slides. Aqualand offers family fun, like crazy race slide and magic slide, kids area with mini zoo water attraction, adrenaline fun with twister and kamikaze slides, etc. Apart from slides and attractions, Aqualand Fréjus offers surf beach simulation and bubble baths.  

How to reach Aqualand Fréjus water park?

Aqualand Fréjus is located on the outskirts of Fréjus town. It is easily reachable on foot (about 30 minutes walk), or by car/taxi. To reach Fréjus, you can use the train or the bus from all nearby towns (Nice, Cannes, Antibes, etc.).

Atlantic Park

Atlantic Park is the biggest water park in Landes region. Located on the beach in Seignosse Le Penon, 3 km from lake Hossegor, it offers a unique experience of using heated pools, waterslides and attractions while at the same time overlooking the ocean. Atlantic Park offers deckchairs for rent, individual lockers and free wifi. The water park is open from mid-June to mid-September.

How to reach Atlantic Park water park?

Atlantic Park is easily reachable by car from Toulouse, Bordeaux and Biarritz, and from Bayonne or Dax there is a RDTL bus line 7 in direction to Seignosse that will bring you to the tourist office, from where you can walk to the water park, just follow the signs.

AquaPark Bergerac

AquaPark Bergerac, also knows as Junior Land Park, offers waterslides, swimming school for the youngest, sports area (beach volley, table tennis, billiards, canoeing, trampoline), relaxation area (sauna and hammam, spa, fitness), etc. It is a great option for your next holiday with friends and family. AquaPark is open from mid-May to late September.

How to reach AquaPark Bergerac?

AquaPark is located in Bergerac town, in Dordogne area, close to Bordeaux and Perigueux. It can be easily reachable by car (50 minutes drive from Perigueux, 1.5 hours from Bordeaux) or by train/bus. Local buses from Perigueux that operate the service lines are Peribus and Transperigord. On the other hand, the bus from Bordeaux is partly operated by OUIBUS and can take more than 5 hours to reach Bergerac with one required change at Creavallee Nord – Coulounieix – Chamiers.

      Hi Carmen, there are two water parks by Paris, one is Île de loisirs de Créteil and the other Aquaboulevard which is the one I would pick.
